Moeun Maline's story

When Moeun Maline was 19, she stepped on a landmine while walking on the road to the rice field in Kompong Cham province. Her right leg was amputated and for the next four years she stayed at home, unable to work and feeling as if her life was over.

MalineThen she heard about the Cambodia Trust from a friend and was brought to one of our rehabilitation centres. An artificial limb was made for Maline and she learnt to walk again.

Thanks to your support, we have been able to help Maline to regain her mobility and independence. She now has a job at the World Rehabilitation Foundation and earns £45 a month. She can also play an active part in looking after her three sons and can join in the social life of her community.

“Before I got the prosthetic limb, I just stayed at home,” she said. “Thank you to Cambodia Trust for providing limbs and services.”
