JSPO studentsThe Cambodia Trust, working with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and supported by the Nippon Foundation, is offering eighteen (18) candidates the opportunity to study at the Jakarta School of Prosthetics & Orthotics (JSPO) based at the Polytechnic of Health Science (Poltekkes) Jakarta 1, in Cilandak, South Jakarta. The deadline for applications is 18th June 2010.

The successful candidates will study Prosthetics-Orthotics on the three-year diploma course, and on graduation will be awarded the ISPO Category II status. He or she will be committed to work as a Prosthetic-Orthotic health professional serving the needs of people with disabilities in orthopaedic rehabilitation centres/clinics throughout Indonesia.

SCHOLARSHIP  FOR TRAINING  
IN PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS (P&O)

Opportunity for 18 candidates to win scholarships to study P&O at Jakarta I Polytechnic of Health Sciences.
The course is 3 years D3 and training is at the international standard, Cat. II ISPO. Scholarship from the Nippon Foundation Japan includes monthly allowance, accommodation, uniforms, student toolkit and home trip once a year.

After graduation you will be one of the pioneers in P&O with many possibilities in the future in P&O training, research, fabrication, business and entrepreneurship.
As a Prosthetist/Orthotist you will work directly with disabled people and assist them by making prostheses (artificial limbs) to replace part of a leg or hand, and orthoses (orthopaedic braces) to provide support for people affected by conditions such as cerebral palsy and diabetes. You will be involved in teamwork with medical doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, etc.


Requirements:

  • Age: max 22 years
  • Education: SMU, SMA, natural sciences (IPA), STM (in particular, mechanical engineering, construction, electronics and art)
  • Minimum height: F: 150cm & M:155cm, interest in physical rehabilitation
  • Adequate English language skills: all P&O training and study materials are in English.

JURUSAN  ORTOTIK PROSTETIK: Bekerjasama dengan Nippon Foundation Jepang melalui Cambodia Trust


Politeknik Kesehatan  Kemenkes Jakarta I, Jurusan Ortotik Prostetik  merupakan institusi pendidikan tinggi milik  Kementerian Kesehatan RI (negeri).

Persyaratan  umum

  • Latar Belakang Pendidikan: SMU, SMA, MA Jurusan IPA, STM (bidang mekanik bangunan, elektronik, seni)
  • Tinggi badan minimal P:150cm & L:155cm
  • Usia maksimal 22 thn
  • Pas foto terbaru berwarna 4x6 (6 lbr)
  • Foto copy ijazah dan nilai UAN yang telah legalisir. (Bila belum ada ijazah bisa menggunakan Surat Keterangan Lulus)
  • Khusus Jurusan Ortotik Prostetik, bisa berbahasa Inggris aktif (speaking & writing)


Jalur  PMDP (Penelusuran Minat  dan Prestasi):                             
Persyaratan Pendaftaran PMDP sama  dengan persyaratan pendaftaran  reguler, ditampah:
Memiliki nilai 7 (tujuh) untuk mata ajar Matematika, bhs Inggris, bhs Indonesia, IPA (Biologi, Fisika, Kimia) sejak semester I s/d semester 5.
Tidak memiliki nilai 5 (lima) untuk setiap mata ajaran sejak semester I s/d semester 5.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR OVERSEAS TRAINING IN PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS

The Cambodia Trust, working with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, is offering one candidate the opportunity to study at the world renowned TATCOT (Tanzanian Centre for Orthopedic Technology), a department of the University of Tumaini in Moshi, Tanzania.


The successful candidate will study Prosthetics Orthotics on the four-year degree course, and on graduation will be awarded the ISPO Category I degree.  He or she will be expected to return to Indonesia to remain within the Prosthetics Orthotics profession in Indonesia for a minimum of nine years.

The scholarship will include English Language training, full payment of tuition fees, accommodation on campus, and a living allowance.  Each candidate will be allowed one return flight to Indonesia at the end of each year of study.

Qualifications:

  • 18 years and above
  • High School graduation (IPA) or D3 in a cognate course to Prosthetics Orthotics (e.g. Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy)
  • Competence in spoken and written English (IELTS 6.5 minimum).

Selection will be made on the strength of academic record, English Language aptitude, interview and entrance examination in Maths, Physics & life sciences.

JSPO studentsAt present there are few internationally trained prosthetist-orthotists in Indonesia, and it is expected that over the next ten years the profession will be developed under the guidance of the Jakarta School of Prosthetics & Orthotics (JSPO). Successful candidates will thus be the first or pioneer generation of Prosthetics & Orthotics professionals in Indonesia.
