The Cambodia Trust was deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Bianca Tong in February.
Bianca was a volunteer with Engineers Without Borders, who through an agreement with the Cambodia Trust came to CSPO in Phnom Penh to teach mathematics in the latter part of 2008.
During her time with Cambodia Trust Bianca went beyond what could be expected of a volunteer. Already giving freely of her time and talents to teach the first year students, she spent many evenings tutoring students in both math and english.
She also gave generously of her time outside of school work, spending many weekends working on volunteer projects with CSPO staff and students, including the Nutrition Centre Orphanage/ Rabbit Café Art Project and the Wildlife Alliance Elephant experience.
Popular with staff and students alike, her wisdom and wit will be missed. In addition to her cheerful nature she will be fondly remembered by CSPO as a talented young woman, who set a wonderful example of professionalism, diligence and kindness.
We would like to extend our sincerest sympathies to her family and friends at this time and join them in remembering Bianca with memories of her that are as bright and brilliant as she was.
